Ömer Karatoprak, known by the nickname ‘Teknik Ömer’, entered the manufacturing sector in the Old Industrial Area of Konya under difficult living conditions, producing sewing machines and threshing machines and providing various spare parts repair services; he thus began the Karatoprak family’s journey, which would continue for generations to come.

Ömer Karatoprak had passed away, and his eldest son, Yaşar Karatoprak, had followed in his father’s footsteps, entering the metalworking industry at a young age.

Yaşar Karatoprak continued to develop his career in the manufacturing sector and set up his own business, ‘TEKNİK PRES’, which manufactures hydraulic presses.

Yaşar Karatoprak has opened a branch in Bulgaria; whilst making progress in the international market by exporting the machinery it manufactures, it has also made significant strides towards globalisation by importing machinery required in the domestic market, such as CNC machines and machine tools. As a result of the reciprocal investment agreements it has concluded in Saudi Arabia, HIDROKAR has made significant inroads into the Asian market.

As the company’s capacity grew, its product range expanded and its customer base increased, it had evolved into a fully-fledged corporate entity, adopting the new name ‘HİDROKAR’. Having participated in various trade fairs and events across the country, the company had become one of the sector’s recognised names nationwide.
